Who we are?

The ICT & Research (sometimes referred to as the ICT & Media) ministry is an administrative department that was established by the ZAFMC leadership to manage the visuals, audio, print, social media platforms and church website. We also facilitate in church programs that requires IT input and research. The situation of today’s world demands Information Technology almost in every field of life. How can we serve people’s need without using ICT and its devices in this technological age. The ICT & Media ministry strives to support all the church activities using ICT & modern communication technologies.

Our Mandate

Below are the duties of the ICT & Research ministry in the ZAFMC:

Spearhead the development of ICT Infrastructure in the church as well as spearhead research by the Church
Provide adequate equipment for recording of all church conferences and special events.
Superintendent over all Church IT equipment and shall ensure its safekeeping and that it is working throughout.
Manage the Church Website and champion all Church communication platforms.
Formulate a Ministerial Budget that feeds into the International Budget.
Shall formulate an operational policy for the Ministry that feeds into the International Policy.
Shall oversee all ICT & Research programmes and work on any other duties as assigned from time to time by the church leadership.

What we are doing at the moment

Below are some of the projects / programs / duties that we are currently doing as a ministry:

Management of church’s Facebook Page (posting of events, updates and live sermons ).
Management of the church’s YouTube channel (posting of church videos).
Management of the Flickr Channel (posting of church pictures).
Management of the church website & emails.

Development of a church ERP (with the assistance of SHP Mawisire & Mr. Mutepfe) in South Africa

• Facilitation role – The church wishes to have marriage officers who are registered with the Registrar general department. Many church members will be trained at the same time for them to qualify as marriage officers.

The challenges that we are facing

The COVID 19 lockdown has affected the marriage officers program facilitation as the Registrar general’s office is currently proving minimal services to an extend that we put the project on hold and we will resume once the registrar general’s offices start operating normally . We also face financial challenges in acquiring up to date IT hardware equipment and software that can improve the quality of the videos and images that we produce as a ministry. Below is a list with some of the required equipment: • HD Digital Cameras • Diaphragm and body worn microphones • Video editing software • External drives for backup purposes • Laptops • Lighting equipment e.t.c Our aim is to fairly cover all church events in all areas but sometimes it fails due to unavailability of funding for transport, internet data and other expenses. We have tried as a ministry to be self sustainable in the past buy starting profit making projects but we didn’t record much progress due to a raft of challenges including the inflationary environment that we currently have in Zimbabwe. Our Vision & plans for the future Below is a list of some of the projects that we intend to do in the future : • Online TV Station – Our Youtube channel can be upgraded into an Online TV platform but this requires us to have up to date equipment that will enable us to generate more content. • Satelite TV Station – This ambition may seem unrealistic due to the financial constraints that we are currently facing as a church but its part of our long term aspirations. Nothing is impossible for believers . • Church Studio for recording and broadcasting purposes • We aspire to have a permanent office from which we can operate from as a ministry • We lost a number of our long serving leaders over the past few years before we could record the history of the ZAFMC from them. We intend to start a program in which we are going to conduct video interviews with our leaders with the aim of tapping from their wisdom and knowledge while they are still around. • As 2023 approaches , we wish to encourage all church members to support all church initiatives using the social platforms that we manage. We also wish to setup platforms that will enable well-wishers to support our projects such the Jerusalem church construction , Social services projects , Education projects ,Health projects and some other developmental projects that we are currently working on as a church. Conclusion The ICT & Research ministry endeavors to contribute in a positive way for the attainment of all ZAFMC goals and this can only be done through the systematic and logical execution of all assignments.
